The ITFA Board is pleased to announce that ITFA will arrange a 2,5 hour Walking Tour of Budapest, which will be held on Friday 6 September.
At a cost of EUR 25 per person you are invited to enjoy all this magnificent city has to offer. The price includes an English speaking guide, entrance fee to St Stephen’s Basilica and House of Parliament, public transportation ticket for tram ride and headset for walking tour.
The guided walking tour will begin at the hotel and it will take around 20 minutes walk to the St. Stephen’s Basilica. St. Stephen’s Basilica is the largest church in Budapest. Inside the Basilica, you will visit the Holy Right Hand of St. Stephen.
From the Basilica, it takes around 20 minutes on foot to the House of Parliament. Along the way, you can stop by the Szabadság square, which is a well-known park by the locals, surrounded by many prestigious buildings, including the U.S. Embassy, the former Stock Exchange, which was home to the Hungarian Public Television (MTV) for decades, The Hungarian National Bank and monuments as well as mementos of the World Wars.
Continue the walk and you will arrive to the House of Parliament (duration of the visit is approx. 60 min), which is considered among the most beautiful Parliament buildings in the world. It was selected as a World Heritage site in the Danube panorama and it is a place of safekeeping for the Hungarian Holy Crown, and a workplace for the Members of Parliament.
After the visit, on the way back to the hotel, you would take the tram between the Parliament and the Marriott. This ride is considered as one of the most beautiful ways of sightseeing in Budapest, as it goes by the riverside of the River Danube, and you see the iconic buildings such as the Royal Castle, the Matthias Church and the Chain Bridge.
